Great schools, low crime, no traffic congestion, and excellent fire, police, and EMS protection make it an ideal setting for families.
The City of Lockhart is a home rule municipality operating under a council-manager form of government. The City Council is comprised of seven members, including the Mayor. Lockhart’s Development Services Department houses two major functions: the Planning Division and the Inspections Division. The Building Official is part of the Inspections Division, which also includes code enforcement for violations of property maintenance code, such as overgrown lots, litter, stagnant water, discarded appliances and furniture, junk vehicles, and unsecured or vacant buildings.
