Job Description:
General Summary
: Supports Assistant Athletic Director with NCAA compliance program to establish accountability in areas of student-athlete eligibility and rules compliance for the institution and coaches. Provides facility oversight with regards to equipment room and student staffing. Supervises student building monitor staff. Evening and weekend work required.
Job duties include:
Assists with the development, implementation and monitoring of critical systems for NCAA, Great Northwest Athletic Conference and Seattle Pacific University rules, policies and procedures. Investigates any alleged NCAA rules violation and prepares self-report to the NCAA. Educates/informs coaches and athletic administration on a continuing basis regarding frequent changes to NCAA regulations.
Introduces resources and educational tools to teams and coaches in regards to student-athletes' wellbeing including, but not limited to: Assault & Abuse, Drugs & Alcohol, Mental Health, and Vocational Calling.
Coordinates NCAA and SPU athletic information to/from the SPU Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR).
Ensures all participating student-athletes meet all applicable NCAA, Great Northwest Athletic Conference and SPU regulations. Prepares and maintains NCAA squad lists. Notifies coaches and student-athletes of eligibility decisions. Prepares and submits NCAA and conference waivers. Administers institutional NLI process.
Manages and completes annual NCAA required reports, including but not limited to Academic Success Rate, Academic Performance Census, NCAA Sport Sponsorship & Demographic Report, etc.
Assists and monitors student-athlete prospects through the NCAA Initial Eligibility Clearinghouse.
Assists Assistant Athletic Director with recommendations for department policy with respect to eligibility, compliance and other issues arising within Athletics. Collaborates with Athletic Director in evaluating actions necessary to attain Title IX compliance.
Serve as primary contact for SPU cheer and mascot.
Engages the University community by participating in campus activities to include faculty meetings, all-staff meetings, chapels, forums, retreats and other opportunities for building relationships and advocating Athletics.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree.
Related collegiate compliance experience.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
Additional Information:
Position will remain open until filled.
Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 annually
