An exciting opportunity for you to be part of a new and global team within the Shell Trading that looks after the design and implementation of compliance controls.
What’s the role?
As a Compliance Controls Manager, you will be managing the Trading and Supply (T&S) Compliance Controls Team and has the responsibility for the design and documentation of all LOD2 Compliance Controls across the T&S Compliance risks. The role also has responsibility to provide support and advise to the business (LOD1) in relation to the design and documentation of LOD1 compliance controls.
The initial focus of the role includes Financial Crime (AML/KYC, Sanctions and ABC) and is expected to expand into the other T&S Compliance Risks (market abuse, licencing etc).
You will also be expected to establish and maintain the Compliance Controls team and creating and maintaining a comprehensive T&S Compliance Controls library. Aside from that, you’ll partner as a Compliance Controls SME with other parts of Compliance and other Functions, including Operational Risk, Legal, Finance, Business Excellence and Audit. Alongside with that, you have the responsibility in establishing processes to document and embed the mentioned partnerships.
More specific responsibilities include:
Develop, enhance and maintain the controls aspects of the T&S Compliance Framework.
Design and document LOD2 compliance controls.
Support design and documentation of business (LOD1) compliance controls.
Lead the compliance team of the Risk Task Force’s controls project working group (LOD1)
Maintain and continuously improve the compliance controls methodology.
Document and maintain team SOPS.
Support the development and roll out of the relevant modules of Metricstream as compliance controls SME.

Requirements:
What we need from you
We’re keen to speak from individuals with relevant experience in developing and maintaining a robust Compliance Control Framework within a Financial Services or trading firm.
We also hope that your CV will show robust understanding of categorisation and evidence of effectiveness of Compliance Controls and the ability to design and implement a comprehensive Compliance Controls library.
A demonstrated ability to collaborate and partner effectively within a global team and someone who has a resilient and agile mindset.
In addition to the above, we’d hope you possess the following attributes:
Clear understanding of the “3 Lines of Defence” model and segregation of duties for each LOD
Previous management experience with a demonstrated ability to motivate, develop and drive performance and encourage positive team dynamics.
Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to engage stakeholders from various areas (LOD2, LOD1 and LOd3) across all levels.
