The ideal candidate will have multi-media environmental and safety compliance experience.u003c/pu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003ePRIMARY FUNCTIONSu003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003cpu003eu003cemu003eu003cstrongu003eHereu0027s a look at some of the things youu0027ll be doing in each area:u003c/strongu003eu003c/emu003eu003c/pu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eENVIRONMENTAL:u003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003eCoordinate, oversee and implement daily environmental programs, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, local and site permit and regulatory requirements.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eContinuous emissions monitoring system (CEMS) reporting u0026ndash; in accordance with Title V permit requirements enforceable by Ohio DEP and U.S. EPA, responsible for compiling monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports. This involves monitoring, record-keeping, interpreting data and submitting reports on-time.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eStorm water runoff plan u0026ndash; ensure facility meets regulatory requirements at all times. Take samples of storm water drain systems during rains, conduct analysis of samples to ensure no chemical or oil makes its way into drains.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eSubmit recommendations to the facility Owner on matters regarding Wastewater and water sampling procedures in accordance with NPDES compliance. Provide support to the Owner for interface with local environmental regulators to include preparing for and coordinating inspections, responding to information requests, supporting strategies for and negotiations of permit modifications and renewals, and preparing routine compliance reports and communications.u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMaintain various facets of the Companyu0026rsquo;s Environmental Management System (EMS) including but not limited to the EHS filing system, the Obligations Tracking System (OTS) and X Files (OSHA u0026amp; regulatory-mandated training records).u003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eu003cemu003eSpill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan u0026ndash; maintain facility procedure to address the following:u003c/emu003eu003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003eOperating procedures to prevent substance spills onto the ground (oil, chemicals)u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eControl measures to prevent a spill from reaching navigable watersu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eCountermeasures to contain, clean up, and mitigate the effects of an oil spillu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eDischarge prevention measures including procedures for routine handling of productsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eUnderstand and interpret regulatory requirements (know where to obtain information and interpret requirements to be applied at the plant level)u003c/liu003enu003cliu003eComplete Reliability Standard Audit Worksheets (RSAWs) for the plantu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eProvide responses that are accurate, technically competent, and given with consideration to represent the stakeholders in a proper manner during compliance visitsu003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eSAFETYu003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003culu003enu003cliu003eFacilitate and administer the employee and contractor safety programsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eProvide safety training topics to employees in daily meetings, conduct regular site safety meetings, and lead safety training for site contractors and visitorsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eConduct routine site walk-downs to perform housekeeping inspections, identify potential hazards, and conduct one-on-one contact sessions with workers to discuss safety issuesu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMaintain safety data sheets (SDSs) and interpret for safe handling and disposal of chemicalsu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eRespond to Incidents including, but not limited to, injuries, incidents and near misses; write a report that explains what happened, identify the cause and recommend corrective action; follow-up as necessary to ensure that corrective action is takenu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eProvide management/oversight for the LOTO, Confined Space, Emergency Response Programs and other plant/corporate policies and proceduresu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eAct as liaison between plant and regulatory agenciesu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eProvide safety and compliance guidance to employees and contractors during plant equipment outagesu003c/liu003enu003cliu003eMonitor and implement new and changing OSHA regulationu003c/liu003enu003c/ulu003enu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eNAES SAFEu003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003enu003cpu003eSafety is a core value of NAES and as a condition of employment, all employees are expected to be mentally alert and work safely at all times.u0026nbsp; All NAES managers and supervisors have a direct and important role in ensuring that all work is performed in a healthy and safe manner. Physical requirements include standing on feet for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, etc.).
