Job Description:
Trading and Supply has a heavy focus on compliance and KYC/financial crime remains a top focus area. Counterparty on boarding, as well as remediation projects and reviews of existing counterparts are led by the Compliance department/Financial Crime Team which is supported by the business lines in T&S, including Shipping & Maritime.
Shipping & Maritime, within Shell International Trading and Shipping Company, is the shipping and maritime centre of excellence for Shell. There is a large and growing maritime component to Group activities that requires significant governance and management of our exposure in these areas to support the ability to trade with counterparts and meet business objectives.
The role will assume full responsibility of all Compliance related matters and report into the Business Integration Manager, Shipping & Maritime.
Focus will be in the following areas:
Key Global Focal and representative for Shipping & Maritime to the T&S Compliance organization including compliance related initiatives and projects including KYC, Financial Crime and Sanctions, amongst others
Proactive involvement in existing Compliance-related activities, Planning/Coordination for the 1-2 year horizon and development of long term solutions specific to Shipping & Maritime in partnership with T&S Compliance. The following are some areas the Compliance Lead will manage:
BAU/COF activity
Onboarding Counterparties for each region
Remediation T1-4
STASCO ERA
GDPR
Review input and communicate output of HRCC meetings
Review existing Counterparties on ongoing basis
Compliance with OFAC shipping black lists
The role is also expected to Lead a team of Compliance Officers based in various hub locations (e.g. KYC Counterparty Onboarding team) to deliver on Compliance related requirements.

Requirements:
The successful candidate in this role must have experience in compliance, process design and controls, people management, familiarity with trading businesses and project management. Specifically,
Hands-on mentality, self-starter, practical problem solving approach, generate own ideas to smoothen the process
Project management: run, coordinate, execute and prepare business for remediation projects; including planning, aligning, getting resources in place (i.e. indication of the workload)
Effective stakeholder management: able to work with Shipping & Maritime General Managers, Regional Teamleads, the Compliance Office as well as KYC-team/ their project organization
Communication and reporting, well developed skills: clear and frequent reporting back to the business.
Advice implementation: advice on improvements, including ideas to make Shipping & Maritime ready for the future, i.e. implement a sustainable way of working
Effective in leading directly and indirectly across cultures and diverse business lines
Preferred: Experience in Shell or other global organization with a deep level of KYC/financial crime/GDPR knowledge/experience
