Job Description:

The HSSE Specialist will fully support Shell Deer Park site’s vision to drive Goal Zero HSSE performance by embedding a culture of caring for others, and mentoring employees with regard to risk identification and mitigation. The position directly reports to the site’s Environmental Lead.

Accountabilities include:

Manage timely submissions of regulatory reports

Manage Safety Stats: Shell OSHA records, 300 Log, First Aid reports; Contractor 5.1, 5.2, STARS hours for R&M Contractors

Safety Data focal point: Monthly, Quarterly, & Annual reports, TCC, AFPM, ACC, HBR

Incident Management (IM) System: Serve as department SME for IM system, Data Entry, Pull data from system for reports/projects, Site administrator for IM

HSSE Data - Build slides/posters/spreadsheets, Trends

Act as recorder for minutes at First Aid meetings

Safety & ER department files and record management

SharePoint serve as department focal point

EOC – support role, also assist with document management and IT issue focal point.

Safety order SME for S-105 Reporting Injury/Illness to Shell Employees

Performance monitoring & reporting –PMR data management/reporting

SME for S-116 Office Safety

Managing HSSE Purchase Orders

Focal point for safety and environmental department procedures

Skills & Requirements

What we need from you -

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

Bachelor of Science in Industrial Health and Safety or Technical equivalent preferred

Minimum three (3) years previous working Industrial Site Health & Safety experience preferred

Previous experience with OSHA documentation preferred

Previous experience as IM administrator preferred

Previous experience with submission of HSSE data

Good verbal and written communication skills

Must have good computer skills and be able to use Microsoft applications and multi-media applications.

Good planning and organizational skills.

Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
