Profile
The objective of this position is to prepare, coordinate and maintain various licensing applications, carrier appointments, and selected corporate filings and renewals. This position also ensures that all state audits, reporting, and examinations are performed in a timely manner are completed as per specific state instruction.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Be knowledgeable of Medicare Advantage rules, regulations, and guidelines to partner with operational areas for proper interpretation and execution.
Conducts audits of internal business units and processes and audits for first tier, downstream and related entities.
Identifies gaps, weaknesses, and deficiencies and/or business productivity/efficiency opportunities.
Monitors and tracks compliance with required Medicare training programs.
Monitors and tracks changes for relevant CMS requirements and works with operational area(s) to identify changes to current procedures.
Evaluates policies and procedures with corresponding desk level procedures to ensure CMS guidance for compliant operational activities remain properly documented.
Coordinate and prepare licensing applications, filing of all Medicare agents license reports and renewals in all currently licensed states as well as new licensing as state laws change.
Maintain licensing of Medicare agents in states requiring separate licensure/registration and corporate licensure via the NIPR online system.
Responsible for regulatory communication relating to licensing, including but not limited to regulatory examinations.
Act as knowledge base for Business Units in regard to Licensing requirements in performance of their duties.
Assist with Corporate and Carrier filings and renewals.
Direct communication with states regarding applications in process and definition of new processes
Handle escalated licensing functions, as necessary.
Provide reporting, file maintenance and scanning as required.
Provide notary assistance as required and assigned by Manager.
Coordinate and facilitate monthly state auditing processes.
Perform other duties, as determined by Manager.
Assist with largescale ad hoc projects as needed.

Skills / Knowledge Requirements:
Computer skills: thorough working knowledge of MS Word, intermediate to advanced Excel, working knowledge of MS Outlook, proficiency knowledge of internet, Access or other database applications a plus.
Knowledge and familiarity with the NIPR online system a plus
Strong analytical and statistical reporting skills
Commitment to exemplary customer service and maintaining a positive attitude with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines for filing and responses.
Detail oriented and high level of organization
Intrinsically motivated with a desire to succeed and excel professionally.
Communications / Management: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with peers, management of all levels, outside vendors and clients as well as state regulatory agencies.
Education / Experience Requirements:
Minimum 1-year related Licensing experience required. Licensing contract administration preferable.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Nice to Haves:
Experience in the following areas: Customer Service, Doc Retention, Third party Vendor Management, and/or Risk Management.
Research skills: ability to research policies, laws and changes using common accepted legal tools, such as Lexis Nexis, AllRegs and RegLaw
Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within Legal/Compliance field
Ability to interpret and apply required policies and procedures.
