McGlinchey Stafford seeks to hire an associate attorney with 3 - 5 years of experience to join our national Consumer Financial Services Compliance practice in Washington, D.C. This practice group provides compliance, transactional and risk management advice to depository institutions and non-depository lenders, finance companies, brokers, servicers, and debt collectors about federal and state laws that govern the consumer financial services industry, such as the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Electronic Funds Transfer Act (EFTA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), and equivalent state laws.
Preferred candidates will have experience either with regulatory compliance issues at the state and federal level or with corporate and transactional experience relating to financial services. Ideal candidates will have experience in consumer finance, excellent academic credentials, strong writing, and research abilities. This is an excellent opportunity for professional growth in a collegial environment of a national firm. Candidates must be admitted in the District of Columbia and their license must be active, in good standing and up to date with current CLE requirements.
