Field Compliance Managers are remote work positions responsible for helping ensure that Best Buy retail and non-retail locations are compliant with federal, state and local regulations and for assisting with internal audit functions in the Field. Primary responsibilities include learning, testing, and improving upon existing field audit tools, monitoring performance metrics for program leaders, and developing and conducting on-site training. Compliance managers will conduct routine site audits in retail and non-retail facilities for approximately 60% of their work time, which will require driving time and potentially air travel time depending on the person’s home base. Reimbursable quarterly travel to Best Buy’s Minnesota headquarters will likely be required. This role will serve as a subject matter expert in the Field supporting specialized compliance requirements, internal audits, and operations needs and will routinely interact with leadership to support regulatory inspections and other regulatory matters. Compliance managers will aggregate and analyze data to identify areas of improvement, execute program modifications, and optimize compliance. Compliance managers work cross-functionally with business partners to support compliance, ethics, and internal audit programs and communicate compliance information across operations and/or with external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
1) Compliance Assurance:
Execute and improve upon existing audit tools to assess and to measure compliance with regulated programs in retail and non-retail locations
Complete quarterly on-site audits of Best Buy locations to ensure compliance with program requirements and perform periodic internal audit testing
Assist with Internal Audit fieldwork procedures and audit follow-up testing in accordance with the IIA (Institute of Internal Audit) standards
Collect, track and analyze data sets to produce performance metrics used to monitor and improve compliance
Analyze opportunities for program improvement and direct improvement plans, including program modifications, standard operating procedures, field-facing supplies, tools and job aids, and training updates
Lead quarterly, in-person meetings with partner corporate teams to communicate performance and program improvement plansEnsure business and program strategies are aligned in support of compliance and the employee/customer experience
Assist in developing proactive field processes for key events and seasonality planning to prevent program breakdowns
Support and execute other projects as assigned
2) Field Training and Engagement:
Direct on-site compliance and ethics program work at locations while conducting quarterly compliance audits, engaging location and field leaders
Produce performance metrics for location and field leaders to improve compliance and direct program improvements
Develop and conduct in-person, on-site compliance training during quarterly compliance audits at all assigned locations
Direct projects cross-functionally with field and corporate business partners to support compliance programs
Develop and engage in regular business rhythms with territory, market and district leaders and staff
Support budget forecasting, versioning and reconciliations processes
3) Regulatory Responsibilities:
Responsible for supporting government inspection process including routine interaction with regulatory agencies in support of compliance
Assist with field-related SOX control compliance testing for the Company’s financial controls.
Technical analysis of state and federal regulations as needed\\Perform quality assurance/quality control of data used to populate permits, reports and performance metrics
Assist in developing technical permit components according to state regulatory requirements as required for retail, supply chain and services locations
Serve as subject matter expert for compliance management
Requirements:
5 years
Best Buy experience in Stores, Distribution Centers or Service Centers
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelors’ Degree
2 years’ compliance, audit, or other related experience
2 years’ experience coordinating large scale projects extending over 12-month timeframe
2 years Data manipulation and analysis experience
Ability to travel up to 50% of work time
Microsoft suit proficient
SharePoint proficiency
